Whirlpool Announces Results of Test Program

Whirlpool recently announced the results of a pilot program designed to reduce the number of electronic control replacements and increase your efficiency and the satisfaction of your customers.  Through an analysis of electronic controls replaced under warranty Whirlpool engineers found that a high percentage of these controls had no apparent defect.  What this means in many instances is that the product may not have been correctly repaired, which could result in another service need.  This reflects poorly on the servicer, the product and the brand.  It also drives down first time completes, reduces technician productivity and negatively affects the profitability of the service company.  To help solve this problem Whirlpool is asking a select number of service companies to follow a procedure that will ensure that the electronic control has indeed failed before replacing it.  This will result in a higher level of customer satisfaction and greater efficiency and profitability for the service company.  Click Preauthorization Letter for full details of the program.  If you receive this letter from Whirlpool and have any questions, please contact your local Field Service Representative or Market Manager.
